University Preparatory School
The years when being a university graduate was seen as sufficient enough, are long gone in the 21st century. Today, university graduates have become the group that has the most difficult time in finding jobs. Employers prefer individuals who have improved themselves in every aspect, who can speak English well, who are cultured, who are qualified and who have high self-confidence. The quality of the education you will receive during your high school years will directly affect your university success and your career afterwards. Seeing your high school years just as exam preparation can hurt your future. That's why you need more than "a classroom education" to prepare for both the exam and professional life!
Visionary Education Model: FLEXA
FLEXA, the original 21st century education model of Vizyon College, is cited as an example to the world by international education authorities.
The American officials of U.S.-based International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), the world's largest educational technology organization, and academics of Arizona State University (ASU), one of the international authorities in the field of educational sciences, examined the 21st century education model FLEXA on site and inspected it according to ISTE standards. Our education model FLEXA received full marks from the authorities as a powerful and innovative education model and was shown among the examples that will inspire the transformation of education in the world.
6 KEY concepts make up the conceptual backbone of the FLEXA system.
In this system, an academic year consists of 4 periods. Two of these periods are completed in the first semester and the other two in the second semester. In this way, academic planning at Vizyon College is done periodically, not annually. The academic status of the school, the academic development of the students and the teacher performances are reviewed in every period, and the system is continuously improved, updated and developed with high quality feedback.
The first stage is the teaching process. The lectures in the period curriculum are completed in this process. Process Assessment Exam (SDS) is applied after the lectures are completed. With this exam, which is prepared and evaluated by Sebit, the most powerful assessment and evaluation institution in Turkey, in every period, the learning outcome performances of the students in the teaching process are measured, and individualized studies and achievement completion studies are carried out according to SDS results. Students who have compensated for their lacking learning outcomes, participate in reinforcement and acceleration activities where they can transform their gains into skills. These studies are applied as tests and pilot exams in the classes where national exam preparation is made. Homework, structured with the Modular Homework System, ensures that previous subjects are repeated regularly. Period Completion Exams (PTS) are held in the last week of each period.
Technology Supported Education
While children represent 20% of the population today, they are 100% of our future. We have to prepare our children for the future with the education of the future. We assert that education and training in the 21st century should not be limited to traditional tools and methods. From our perspective, using technology smartly and efficiently in education is one of the main responsibilities of every educator and educational institution today.
This page explains how smart and efficient use of technology in education increases the quality and success of education, as well as shows what will be deprived of education without technological support. With the educational technologies we have today, it is possible to do much more than what is described on this page...
Students Learn Faster
The course contents enriched with technological interactive visuals turn learning into an experience. Enriched learning experiences increase students' interest in content. The human brain learns the things it is interested in much easier and memorizes it in a short time. This situation increases the student's self-confidence in learning. Thanks to the shortened lecture and learning times, students have time to transform knowledge into skills with different practices and activities. The ultimate goal of education is to transform knowledge into skill.
DWe Assess Better, we make education personal.
Students' Motivation and Confidence Rises
Technology-supported education methods and digital contents bring students together with content and methods suitable for their own learning style and speed, enrich their learning environment, and make learning independent of time and place. Technology-supported assessment and evaluation infrastructure produces individual solutions to learning difficulties. In this way, even if someone in the class learns faster, no one is left behind or disconnected from the class. Everyone in the classroom has a high motivation to learn. This provides learning synergy and dynamism in the classroom. For this reason, Vizyon College students come to school and leave school happy.
Learning Communication and Cooperation Increases
Working in communication, sharing and cooperation, which are some of the most important skills of the 21st century, are the lifestyle of Vizyon College students. With digital notebooks, students and teachers stay in constant communication with each other. They can do many studies jointly without time and space limitations. These opportunities also make Peer Learning, which is one of the most important learning styles, a natural part of the education.
Students Gain More Skills
People working in today's professional world need to use many Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and OneNote in a qualified manner. Vizyon College, which is shown as an example to the world as Microsoft Showcase School, has used Microsoft Office software as the main platform in their education, and our students start to use these programs at an advanced and qualified level as of the 5th grade. When Vizyon College students graduate, they are better equipped than most of the average university graduates in our country.
Education is Safer
The technology also provides high security and control capability in the school. Protective firewall applications prevent students from accessing unwanted sites while at school. Teachers can see the screens of all students in the classroom at the same time, they can control, restrict or turn off the screens if they wish. Teachers and parents can review students' smart notebooks whenever and wherever they want, or they can review performance reports of educational software used by students. So, technology brings both security and transparency to the school.
School Becomes Transparent, School-Parent Cooperation Grows Stronger
Thanks to cloud technologies, parents can instantly access from any device they choose, from anywhere much of the information about their students, such as success, absenteeism, study, homework performance, participation in events. School-Parent cooperation, which is an important component of success, takes place at the highest level in this monitoring, reporting and information sharing environment.
Modular Homework System
With the Modular Homework System, we also structure the work that the student does at home.
In Vizyon College's education approach, homework studies are tasks given to students to reinforce what they have learned at school, outside of school-hours or to re-contextualize them. These tasks, which are planned based on in-class activities, reinforce the learning at school and enable the development of many learning skills such as independent working and time management. At Vizyon College, homework is given in a systematic order with an understanding that we call the Modular Homework System. Assignments are mostly prepared and shared digitally on the Vcloud / Round platform. According to this system, teachers prepare homework in a way that can be completed in approximately 15 minutes, each of which we call a module. The homework load of students varies according to the class, and the larger the class, the higher the homework amount becomes. Homework follow-up of students is also carried out digitally. For each class, it is determined how many modules of which course will be taught weekly. For example, while a 9th grade student has a homework plan consisting of 5 modules per day, a student in the 11th grade has a 7 module homework per day. In other words, in the Modular Homework System, both teachers and students have a clear weekly and daily homework schedule and planning.
The modular homework system offers many advantages;
- At home studies are structured and integrated with studies at school.
- Homework becomes a part of the learning process.
- Both the students and the parents know in advance and at all times, how much homework they have, on which day and from which lesson.
- Preservative assignments and past achievements are constantly being repeated.
- Assignments that can be individualized thanks to digital integration become a part of assessment and evaluation.
Cabinet Classroom Application
At Vizyon College, students go to the classroom of the course they will take, like a university student.
We attach great importance to students being responsible for their own learning and being the party that demands learning. We are aware of the contribution this provides to the motivation to learn. For this reason, starting from the 5th grade, the cabinet classroom system is applied at Vizyon College. In this model, branch teachers prepare customized classrooms for the relevant course and accept students in these classrooms. Students go to the classroom of the course they will take in accordance with their course schedule, as is the case in universities. The cabinets of each lesson are designed by the lesson teachers in accordance with their own content, and students study each lesson in their own laboratory.
Since the National Exam Preparation program is implemented in Grades 8 and 12, they are not included in the cabinet system, and our students in the exam group continue their education in fixed cabinets.
The cabinet classroom system increases the performance and motivation of both teachers and students.
Cabinet classroom system improves the performance of teachers. With this system, the teacher, who has a room of his own, organizes his room with the materials of his lesson in the best way, pays more attention to his lesson and class, builds the design of the learning environment by themselves, and always meets their students in a more equipped way, and has the opportunity to easily access any material they need. All classrooms turn into laboratories.
The cabinet classroom system allows students to go to the teacher's room for the lesson, and the student becomes "the one who demands to learn." The natural result of this, is motivation and self-confidence. The student gets rid of the monotony of sitting in the same row. In the classroom, students can gain more access to course materials and have the opportunity to practice with the materials.
Blended Learning Applications
With blended education applications, we also structure the work done by students at home and make learning much more efficient and permanent.
Blended Learning, which consists of combining the strengths and advantages of learning in the classroom with web-based learning, has an important place in our education structure. The blended learning environment provides learners with the advantages of web-based learning, such as being able to work from anywhere, at any time, for as long as they want and instantly receive feedback / correction / reinforcement through the web-based teaching environment, while at the same time offering the strengths of face-to-face learning environments like being able to take part in discussions in a face-to-face learning environment, directly interacting with teachers and learners, and being able to see and examine each other's learning products. It carries learning outside of school, makes homework purposeful, and integrates it into the school.
With Flipped Classroom, which is the method where the lesson is studied at home and the practice is done at school, we increase the learning efficiency by “flipping” the education in many lessons.
Raising students with the equipment required by the 21st century also requires the emergence of different teacher roles. The Flipped Classroom model is an understanding of teaching that allocates the time that should be spent in the classroom to collaborative work, questioning and thinking. Flipped Classroom acts as a powerful catalyst that transforms teachers from transferring content to designing content, and students from passive consumers of information to individually driven and more collaborative active learners in learning. From this point of view, thanks to this model that provides students with critical thinking, communication, productivity and collaboration skills required by the 21st century;
- Students have the chance to learn at "their own pace". In this way, no one lags behind, motivation increases.
- Students can follow the lessons whenever and wherever they want, increasing their freedom.
- Lessons become more participatory and interactive, and interest in lessons increases.
- The interaction between students and teachers increases.
- The teacher can devote more time to his students in the classroom.
- Students' responsibility to learn increases and they experience higher learning practises.
Etude Studies / Personal Development Courses
With our strong assessment and evaluation infrastructure, we can identify students' shortcomings at achievement and sub-achievement levels, and create customized solutions for each student.
The technological assessment and evaluation infrastructure of Vizyon College is coordinated by SEBİT, Turkey's largest educational technologies and assessment and evaluation institution, as part of the Project School collaboration. The Process Assessment Exam (SDS) which is held in regular periods of six weeks, is analyzed by ODTÜ Teknokent-based SEBİT experts, and the results are transferred to Vizyon College. High-quality questions that are specially prepared for the academic system of Vizyon College, Flexa, assess the students' learning grades at achievement and sub-achievement levels. The extra classes, studies and homework that students require are planned according to the results.
Our etude studies / personal development activities are carried out during school hours, so all of our students participate in the etude studies / personal development activities and our students who use the school buses return home with their school buses.
Etude study education is one of the strongest elements of Vizyon College's education model.
In addition to the SDS (Process Assessment Exam), the unit achievement tests and the modular homework system, quickly and correctly identify the students' learning outcome deficiencies and their need for etude studies. The need for etude studies can be determined by teachers as well as by students. Lacking achievements are complemented and reinforced by group lessons, small group lessons, individual lessons and individual assignments, and these are carried out during school hours on weekdays. We do not plan after-school etude studies, which we believe to be inefficient.
- Our students can request an etude study electronically from any teacher they want. These requests are evaluated, and study assignments are made over the system in the form of one-on-one or small group studies.
- Teachers, over the system, can send etude studies to students who are lacking achievements.
- For students who do not lack in subjects / achievements, studies are carried out in the fields of their interests, in form of reading books, debates, robotics studies, sports and artistic workshops, etc., in line with their personal development.
- Grades 8 and 12 can get special etude studies from any teacher they want, during the “Problem Solving” hours in their curriculum.
- After each study, an outcome evaluation exam is given to our students. The same study is repeated for the student who is lacking in achievements.
- Our parents can follow on which day and on which achievement was a study given to our students, and can follow the students' success in this study through the system.
- Achievement completion or repeat studies are carried out with students who need them, on Saturdays.
We see the advisory teacher as the parent of the student at school. We structure the communication and cooperation between the school, students and parents with the advisory teacher system.
Time spent at school covers a large part of students' lives. During the time spent away from their families, the students need an adult whom they will feel close to, share their troubles and problems with, and get support from in finding solutions, someone who will watch over them, guide them and set an example. The presence of this person gives the students a sense of self-confidence and responsibility, and increases their motivation.
Starting with the 5th grade, every student at Vizyon College has an advisory teacher
The advisory teacher, observes the life of our student on campus, talks with them individually at regular intervals, supports the solution of the problems that they cannot express or have difficulty expressing, acts as an intermediary and guides them. Advisory teachers contact the students' guidance counselors, branch teachers and parents, at regular intervals to consult with the student's situation. The purpose of the advisory teacher's communication with the parents is to evaluate the situation through the eyes of an educator, to express their opinions and to provide advisory support to the parents.
Advisory teaching is very important in structuring the teaching staff of Vizyon College. Our teachers are trained and guided throughout the year in order to carry out the work of advisors in an efficient and qualified manner.
We develop 21st century skills in students with coding, robotics and engineering education.
Students preparing for the future need much more than a standard school.
The aim of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education, which started in the U.S. in recent years, is to integrate the standard school curriculum with the science, technology, mathematics and engineering applications that correspond to the life of the 21st century, and in this regard to raise individuals who are productive, who can think analytically and critically, who have high problem-solving skills.
STEM education at Vizyon College is carried out with critical thinking, collaboration, and observational science activities applied at all levels starting from primary school. This is because, STEM education has a direct relationship with life, understanding the world and creating a better world.
Thinking Skills Education
Education with Mind Maps
At Vizyon College, mind maps are actively used and highly regarded by students and teachers while lecturing, taking notes, assignments, exams, presentations and many other activities.
In the 21st century, what brings success is not information but critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity and collaboration skills. Thinking is an activity that can be structured and developed through education. Critical thinking, one of the 21st century skills that is necessary for students to acquire, is defined as logical reasoning while trying to understand something, as understanding the relationships between systems, and as being able to make difficult choices.
One of the frequently used methods for the development of Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills in Vizyon College is to work with mind maps.
A mind map is used in creating, visualizing, designing and classifying thoughts, as well as in education, organization, problem solving and decision-making processes. Mind maps show semantic or other connections between information, help to organize thinking, and increase efficiency. In other words, creating a mind map is the act of seeing the big picture.

Anatolian High School English Program
IGSCE PROGRAM (INTERCULTURAL HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM)
At Vizyon College, Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is applied.
Pearson Edexcel International GCSE is one of the most preferred and recognized international certificates in the world for students between the ages of 14 and 16.
A student must have at least B1 level English proficiency to be included in this program. IGCSE, which is valid worldwide, especially in England and France, is a global education program that is generally organized with the aim of preparing students for international academic life. Students who graduate from this program will have an international high school diploma valid for life. Especially for students who want to study at an international level; It helps to prepare for challenging foreign language and proficiency exams such as SAT, ACT, IELTS, TOEFL, CPE exams, and ensures that the student is academically strengthened in the field in which they want to study. In addition, students who have completed their high school education by being included in the IGCSE program have the chance to skip the preparatory education of universities that provide education in a foreign language.
Student performance is monitored by using artificial intelligence technologies, lesson tracking scales and homework charts. The student's contact with a foreign language is provided with weekend and daily assignments. In addition, project assignments, performance assignments, presentation preparation, book reading assignments for mid-term and summer holidays are given.
The progress of our students in English is tested via international Pearson Versant exams and the Global Scale of English (GSE) system and delivered to our parents as detailed individual development reports.
Vizyon College's foreign language education model was structured by targeting world citizenship. We know very well that individuals who have learned to learn will make a difference in the future. Our Vizyon College foreign languages program has been created with this vision and is implemented with great success.
Project Studies in High School
Vizyon College high school students are capable of putting their knowledge and experience into projects, producing and presenting them. By putting this at the center, we attach great importance to project studies in high school. We offer students the opportunity to develop their problem-solving, analytical thinking and decision-making skills by offering them the opportunity to do group projects and individual projects. Students have the opportunity to work in various fields and present their projects on different platforms. Students who are concerned about the problems of the world and who are sensitive to the environment they live in, bring their perspective to a solution-oriented point by creating projects. Life skills also improve as the project includes studies aimed at finding a solution to a problem or taking advantage of an emerging opportunity.
Our students gain the ability to present their projects to their friends and teachers online when necessary, using Microsoft's products like Teams, OneNote applications.
